Royalties for Plays and Musicals

I can remember when a high school play was being produced, and the production rights required that you cannot produce a copyrighted play or musical without written permission and the payment of royalties for that production. While it is understandable that the creator of a work would wish be properly compensated for their work, I still found this sad.

For this reason, this production will be placed into the Creative Commons so that people will be free to utilize this work without concern for copyright laws. You can embed this into your projects, you can create derivative works (including commercial) without the need to worry about copyright.

A Creative Commons license is used when the creator wants to give people the right to share, use, or build upon a work that they (the author) have created. Creative Commons provides an author flexibility and protects the people who use or redistribute the work from concerns about copyright infringement as long as they abide by the conditions that are specified in the license used by the author to distribute the work.

For those who may not be familiar with the concept of the Creative Commons, I would encourage you to do your own research on how this amazing cooperative concept can be utilized to help build a better society. Other valuable parts include Open Source and Free Software, cooperatives, as well as local currencies. We can build a better society once we abandon ingrained beliefs and take back our power to open a new paradigm.

There are several types of Creative Commons licenses. This license gives anyone the ability to use this music and opera production for videos, movies, songs, websites, plays, or other derivative works, including commercial productions. This Creative Commons license requires attribution.
